National User Conference focused on managing risk under value-based care
May 8, 2019[BLOOMINGTON, MN] – MatrixCare announced today that its annual User Conference “Directions”—which took place in Nashville, April 24th-26th—broke all company records in terms of client attendance, prospect attendance, partner sponsors and programming content.
The event began with an exclusive invitation-only CIO Digital Health Summit on Tuesday, followed by two and a half days of programming, with multiple tracks and a total of 108 total sessions. More than 30 of these incorporated ways to succeed under PDPM. In addition, 29 partner organizations, including many Fortune 100 companies, participated in the MatrixCare Partner Pavilion. Some highlights of the conference include:
- An invitation-only, pre-conference CIO Digital Health Summit that brought together technology leadership from across the spectrum of long-term, post-acute care to discuss industry challenges and opportunities related to security, data exchange, new technologies and more.
- The introduction of MatrixCare’s modernized platform, which is currently in use by a large segment of MatrixCare customers. This platform is designed to work across all care-settings, with purpose-built workflows to accommodate the unique needs of each out-of-hospital provider and is also integrated with other proprietary ancillary products and third-party technology partners.
- MatrixCare’s newest offering, the Brightree home health and hospice solution, which will be integrated into the modernized platform, thereby completing MatrixCare’s full-spectrum solution for out-of-hospital care.
- Development efforts around coming technology enhancements, many leveraging machine-learning and artificial intelligence to predict fall risk, condition changes and more.
- An “eMAR offline” option that will allow seamless medication administration even in situations where Internet connectivity is lost. Last year’s hurricane in the southeast and fires in California underscored the need for this critical offering.
- A pilot of its new Intake Management software that allows providers to tap into local referral networks and quickly evaluate whether a referral is a good match for the services provided by the organization, thereby helping to ensure optimal outcomes under PDPM.
- 575 appointments in the “Genius Lab,” where attendees could schedule one-on-one consultations with MatrixCare product experts to learn how to maximize their investments in MatrixCare technology.
- A Partner Pavilion featuring a variety of leading third-party solutions that integrate with the MatrixCare ecosystem, led by Exclusive Sponsors: Attendance on Demand, Nurse Rosie Products and ProviNET Ian Gelenter, SVP of Pioneer Solution, Inc., a Directions Preferred Sponsor remarked: “…this was perhaps the single best conference we have participated in. The combination of positive culture, information sharing, quality attendees and business opportunities were truly unmatched.”
- Introduction of Brian Peters, formerly CIO with CarDon, as MatrixCare’s new COO.
- Two keynotes that addressed two very different, but equally important, factors that contribute to a successful senior care business. The first, by MatrixCare President & CEO John Damgaard, was on the topic of “Outcomes Matter: Outperforming your Competition Under Value-Based Care.” The second keynote by motivational speaker, Jerry Bridge, focused on the need for caregivers to practice self-care as the key to “Thriving in the Face of Massive Change and Extraordinary Challenges in Senior Care.”
