Unlocking the benefits of EHR Training Assurance Plus (TAP)

What is MatrixCare EHR Training Assurance Plus (TAP)?

Training Assurance Plus, or TAP, is an add-on service that helps clients make the best use of all that MatrixCare has to offer. It’s a proactive way to go beyond basic EHR training, and give every member of your team expert-level knowledge of MatrixCare tools and solutions, while implementing an ongoing EHR training option that helps you better keep up with personnel and regulatory changes.

Available to all MatrixCare customers, TAP can also help ensure that you’re getting the best bang for your buck with your MatrixCare investment by unlocking benefits you may not know about. It can also help optimize the features you already use for even better results and continuous improvement.

TAP services are available in the form of ongoing, one-on-one training sessions, purchased by the hour. There are packages available, but there’s no right or wrong number of hours—they don’t expire, and you can purchase as many as you need. If you’re not sure, we’ll work with you to figure out the best course of action, and to make sure you’re getting the maximum value for each hour you buy.

How does the MatrixCare EHR Training Assurance Plus (TAP) program work?

Our EHR Training Assurance Plus program starts with the development of a plan, or what we call an EHR health check. This initial assessment is an exercise in discovery to assess your unique organizational needs and to determine whether the available services are being used to best meet them.

To carry out this customized review, we talk with the people who are most involved with your EHR system. We know how important it is to understand the perspective of the folks on the ground, and we do this with one-on-one consultations and conversations, rather than with polls, online forms, pre-recorded webinars, or other less personal (and often less accurate) methods.

After the EHR health check and general assessment, one-on-one training sessions are planned to bring key staff members up to speed, as needed—which includes onboarding sessions with any new hires. More specific solutions will also be planned as needed, including help using EHR dashboards, adopting best practices, understanding regulatory changes, and more.

What are the 3 biggest benefits of the TAP EHR training program?

Among the many benefits offered by our EHR Training Assurance Plus program, the three biggest benefits of TAP for our clients can be summed up in customization, ROI, and staff retention. Let’s take a closer look at each of these important factors.

TAP EHR training benefit #1: A fully customized solution

TAP is, first and foremost, fully customizable, and adaptable to meet each organization’s unique needs. We know that no two companies or facilities are alike, so we don’t use a one-size-fits-all template. For instance, keeping up with the release schedule is the biggest priority for some groups. For others, a more intense training regimen may be appropriate.

Whatever the best path for your organization, MatrixCare success managers will work with you from the very beginning to best understand what’s available and to set up the program that’s right for you. We then offer monthly assessments to make sure you’re getting the best use of that plan, and the best value from your spend with MatrixCare.

TAP EHR training benefit #2: Boosting your ROI

That emphasis on value is at the heart of TAP. Designed to maximize the ROI of your MatrixCare EHR investment by helping you get the best possible use from the many services on offer, TAP’s value is consistently proven by the companies that use it. We’ve seen that again and again in terms of better outcomes from customers who do engage with TAP.

In this sense, TAP is an opportunity to maximize ROI from your EHR spend by investing in your relationship with your EHR vendor to get the best experience as a user and owner of that system. But, it’s also a way to boost your ROI by investing in your staff, and empowering those key individuals who then share that knowledge and guidance throughout your organization.

TAP EHR training benefit #3: Promoting staff satisfaction and retention

Last but certainly not least, TAP is a powerful tool for promoting staff retention and satisfaction—always a challenge in healthcare, and especially so during an ongoing global pandemic. Offering high-level training on the technology your team uses every day gives them confidence in their skills and knowledge and helps them do their jobs at the top of their abilities.

This training doesn’t just improve skills but also makes people feel involved, appreciated, and more likely to invest in the organization they work for, in terms of dedication and engagement. And at a time when staff turnover is a bigger challenge than ever in healthcare, the opportunity to use engagement to improve retention is a major benefit in its own right.

Time to get proactive on EHR training with TAP!

Whether it’s regulatory, industry, product, or personnel, change is constant. And too often, the EHR training needed to keep up with this change is requested and utilized in an efficient, ad-hoc basis—a last-minute consideration for something that should be an operational priority.

Forward-thinking organizations are getting better results—and achieving better cost control—by integrating one-on-one, results-oriented training into their day-to-day operations with solutions like EHR Training Assurance Plus (TAP) from MatrixCare.
