MatrixCare is the First LTPAC Technology Provider to Sign On

Bloomington, MN – MatrixCare®, the largest LTPAC technology provider in the United States, today joined leading health information technology companies and national health systems in a pledge to make electronic health records work better for residents and providers. The pledge focuses on three areas – consumer access, no blocking/transparency, and standards – with the goal of making accurate and timely health information available to residents, families, and care team members. U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Sylvia M. Burwell announced the initiative March 1, 2016 at the Health Information Management Systems Society conference.

John Damgaard, MatrixCare President and CEO, commented, “MatrixCare was the first LTPAC technology provider to take an open API, standards-based approach to interoperability and we are proud to be the first to affirm our commitment by making the pledge. We currently transmit more NCPDP compliant prescription messages than all other LTPAC EHR vendors combined and create thousands of CCD documents every week. The MatrixCare Connections program and CareCommunity tool facilitate interoperability and effective care coordination to reduce the cost of health care and, more importantly, improve the quality of life for seniors.”

MatrixCare Connections is an innovative program that formally certifies the interoperability between MatrixCare and third-party systems and service organizations that support our LTPAC providers. It ensures that they are prepared for the increased data exchange demands within the LTPAC continuum and beyond. MatrixCare Connections facilitates both direct-to-acute connections and intermediated connections through Health Information Exchanges.
